Anderson, P.E.
DATE: June 10, 2020
SUBJECT: Dane County Erosion and Sediment Control Plan
GEC# 2-0715-257
Mr. Hagey wishes to construct a garage with a gravel driveway on his property located at 8237
Emerald Terrace in the Town of Roxbury, Wisconsin. Additional grading will be necessary to tie
proposed contours to the existing contours present on site. The existing gravel driveway on the
property will also be removed, as well as the existing 24" culvert. A new squash 30" culvert will
also be installed beneath the proposed driveway. With the proposed garage and gravel
driveway in combination with the removal of the existing driveway, imperviousness will exceed
the allowable limit by approximately 400 SF. This will require mitigation of 400 SF of area
through the use of permeable pavers..
In compliance with Dane County Ordinances, Mr. Hagey is submitting the Erosion Control
Permit Application (Shoreland) and will install the erosion and sediment control measures
outlined in Drawing C1.0 to prevent detrimental impacts to waters of the state.
Mr. Hagey plans to utilize his existing gravel drive for tracking prevention/control prior to its
removal but will not be continuously entering and exiting the construction site with equipment,
which is common practice for larger construction projects.
The existing culvert to be replaced is a 24" culvert. The existing culvert has not had any capacity
problems, so it is assumed that replacing with a new, larger size pipe will have no impacts on
the available capacity or velocity of storm events passing through the culvert.
Mr. Hagey plans to start and complete the work in the Summer of 2020 including site
stabilization. Seeding and fertilizer information can be found below.
Fertilizer shall be applied prior to seeding at a rate of seven pounds per 1000 square feet. The
latest seeding shall be completed on or before September 15th
Portage • Black River Falls • La Crosse
GEC Consulting Engineering•Structural Engineering•Building Design•Environmental Services•Building Inspection•GIS Services
Grants&Funding Services•Land Surveying•Zoning Administration•Mechanical,Electrical,&Plumbing Services GEC
