The site plans submitted show the proposed residence located 15 and 16 feet from the rear property line.
Neither one of these will work. The minimum required setback to the rear property line is 50 feet. Please submit
a revised site plan.
2. The site plan shows that a new driveway will be added exceeding 125 feet in length. The Department of Land
and Water Resources requires erosion control permits for driveways exceeding 125 feet in length. The project is
location within 1,000 feet of a pond. The Department of Land and Water Resources requires shoreland erosion
control permits for land disturbance exceeding JO square feet within 1,000 feet of a pond. Please contact
Dane County Land and Water Resources to d' line permit requirements. Contact Jason Neidhart, 224-3738.
Please be aware that construction within 10 feet o' Minimum required setback will require a location survey as a
condition of the zoning permit. If the proposed re 2nce is located at least 50 feet from the rear property line, but less
than 60 feet from the rear property line, then a .tion survey will be required to verify the distance of the residence to
the rear property line. This means that you w need to hire a professional surveyor for the location survey, which
would be an additional expense for you.
If you have any questions, please cont
Thank you.
Sarah Johnson
Zoning Inspector
Dane County Planning and Development
City-County Building, Room 116
210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Madison WI 53703
608-267-3960
iohnson.sarah@countyofdane.com
NOTE: The Dane County Planning& Development Department office is currently closed in response to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
