11-1 <br /> CHAPTER 11 11.015 DEFINITIONS. As used in this chapter, <br /> the" following words and phrases have the <br /> Shoreland, Shoreland-Wetland and meanings indicated: <br /> Inland-Wetland Regulations (1) Board of Adjustment. The body established <br /> under Chapter 59.99, Wisconsin Statutes, for <br /> 11.01 Dane County Shoreland, counties and designated "board of adjustment." <br /> Shoreland-Wetland, Inland-Wetland and (2) Boathouse. A building for the storage of <br /> Flood Plain Management. boats, canoes and other water craft and their <br /> 11.02 Shoreland District. accessories. <br /> 11.03 Shoreland Regulations. (3) Channel. A channel is a natural or artificial <br /> 11.04 Shore Cover. watercourse with definite bed and banks to confine <br /> 11.05 Filling, Grading, Lagooning, Dredging and conduct the normal flow of water. <br /> and Excavating Ditching. (4) Department of Natural Resources. The <br /> 11.06 Shoreland-Wetland and Inland-Wetland department of natural resources of the State of <br /> Districts. Wisconsin. <br /> 11.07 Permitted Uses in the Shoreland-Wetland (5) Development. Any manmade change to <br /> and Inland-Wetland Districts. improved or unimproved real estate, including but <br /> 11.08 Uses Which are Allowed in the not limited to construction of or additions or <br /> Shoreland-Wetland and Inland-Wetland substantial improvements to buildings. Other <br /> I_; Districts Subject to the Issuance of a structures, or accessory uses, the placement of <br /> Zoning(Land Use) Permit. mobile homes, mining, dredging, filling, grading, <br /> 11.09 Prohibited Uses. paving, excavation or drilling operations, <br /> 11.10 Re-Zoning of Lands in the deposition of materials. <br /> Shoreland-Wetland and Inland-Wetland (6) Drainage System. One or more artificial <br /> Districts. ditches, tile drains or similar devices which collect <br /> surface runoff or groundwater and convey it to a <br /> Flood Plain Regulations point of discharge. <br /> 11.11 Statutory Authorization, Finding of Fact, (7) Land Use. Any "development" as defined in <br /> Statement of Purpose and Title. 11.21(i). <br /> 11.12 General Provisions. (8) Non-Conforming Structure. An existing <br /> 11.13 Regional Floodway District(FW). lawful structure or building which is not in <br /> 11.14. Regional Flood Fringe District(FF). conformity with the provisions of the applicable <br /> 11.15 General Flood Plain District(GFP). zoning ordinance for the area which it occupies. <br /> 11.16 Flood Storage District. (9) Non-Conforming Use. A lawful use that <br /> 11.17 Non-Conforming Uses. existed prior to adoption of a zoning ordinance <br /> 11.18 Administration. which restricts or prohibits said use. . <br /> 11.19 Amendments. (10) Ordinary high-water mark means the point <br /> 11.195 Map Amendments. on the bank or shore up to which the presence and <br /> 11.196 Map Amendments. action of surface water is so continuous as to leave <br /> 11.20 Enforcement and Penalties. a distinctive mark such as by erosion, destruction <br /> 11.21 Definitions. or prevention of terrestrial vegetation,. <br /> predominance of aquatic vegetation, or other easily <br /> recognized characteristics. <br /> 11.01 DANE COUNTY SHORELAND, (11) Inland-Wetlands. These wetlands include all <br /> SHORELAND-WETLAND AND INLAND- wetlands located throughout unincorporated Dane <br /> WETLAND. The county is specifically empowered County that are not within the county shoreland <br /> to regulate these management districts under district, i.e., not located within 1,000 feet from the- <br /> sections 59.971 and 33.455,Wis. Stats. ordinary high-water mark of navigable lakes, ponds <br /> [History: am., Sub. 2 to OA 21, 1993-94, pub. or flowages, and also not located within 300 feet of <br /> 09/30/94; am., Sub. 1 to OA 47, 1993-94, pub. the ordinary high-water mark or landward side of <br /> 03/22/95.] the flood plain of the navigable reaches of rivers <br /> and streams. . <br /> (12) Special Exception means a use which is <br /> permitted by this ordinance provided that certain <br /> Unofficial Text Dane County Code of Ordinances <br /> rev. 043095 <br />
