Chapter 10 <br /> Diagram B (Marquee) (11) Crop signs are permitted only while the crop is <br /> being grown and for no more than 30 days after <br /> harvest. <br /> (12) Directional signs are not permitted in <br /> - ' residential districts except for use by an apartment <br /> building or complex. <br /> (13) Distance measurements shall be measured <br /> along the pertinent right-of-way lines when <br /> determining separation between signs or distance <br /> from intersections. <br /> (14) Double deck signs are not permitted. <br /> (15) Electronic signs may be used only to advertise <br /> activities conducted or goods and services available <br /> on the property on which the signs are located or to <br /> Diagram C (Wall) present public service information. Electronic signs <br /> may not display a message for less than one-half of a <br /> second and may not repeat a message at intervals of <br /> • <br /> ^ less than 2 seconds. A traveling message may not <br /> travel slower than 16 light columns per second nor <br /> v faster than 32 light columns per second. <br /> (16) Farm signs are limited to on-premise signs <br /> identifying a farm by its name or by the farmer's <br /> name and may contain additional historical <br /> information such as date of founding or century farm <br /> designation or name or logo of the sign sponsor. <br /> (17) Flashing or rotating lights on signs are not <br /> permitted. <br /> (18) A garage sale sign may be displayed 7 days <br /> prior to the date of the sale and must be removed no <br /> Diagram D (No Border) later than the day following the event. The sign must <br /> be located on the premises of the garage sale. <br /> (19) Graphic signs are not permitted. <br /> (20) Logos may contain only the emblem or name of <br /> Othe business located on the same property or, on farm <br /> and crop signs, the name or emblem of the business <br /> sponsoring the signs. Logos may not be larger than <br /> 25% of the sign copy area and shall be included <br /> within said copy area. <br /> (21) Except for time and temperature signs and <br /> o electronic signs,no fluttering,undulating,rotating, or <br /> other moving signs shall be permitted. <br /> (22) Plantings or structures that exceed 30 inches in <br /> height are prohibited beneath ground and pylon signs. <br /> (23) Sign trim is permitted on all signs and may be <br /> installed around the outside of the sign copy area. <br /> The square foot area of the trim shall not be greater <br /> than 25%of the permitted copy area of the sign. <br /> (24) No sign, temporary or otherwise, shall be <br /> affixed to a tree or utility pole, fence or fence pole,or <br /> be painted on a stone. <br /> Page 49 <br /> Revised 4-30-97 <br />
