• ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. /611 <br /> Amending the text of the Dane County Zoning Ordinance related to Section/s <br /> 11.00, Flood Plain Regulation. <br /> The Dane County Board of Supervisors does ordain as follows: <br /> Change the numbering 'of sections as follows: <br /> 11.20 to 11.21 <br /> 11.19 to 11.20 <br /> 11.18 to 11.19 <br /> 11.17 to 11.18 <br /> 11.16 to 11.17 <br /> 11.17(b) . to 11.17(c) <br /> Create a new S 11.17 (b) as follows: <br /> 11.17 (b) - No structural repairs, modifications or additions to an existing <br /> buildng, the cost of which exceeds, over the life of the existing building, <br /> 50% of its present equalized assessed value, may be allowed in a floodplain <br /> area unless the entire building is permanently changed to conform with the <br /> 'f'lood proofing and flood storage modification provisions of this ordinance. <br /> Create a new Section 11.16 as follows: <br /> 11.16 Flood Storage District: <br /> (1) INTENT & PURPOSE: <br /> The Flood Storage District delineates that portion of the <br /> floodplain where storage of flood waters has been taken into <br /> account. The district provides for the protection of the storage <br /> areas and assures that development in the storage areas will not <br /> cause higher floodplain elevations. <br /> (2) CRITERIA FOR ESTABLISHING FLOOD STORAGE DISTRICTS: <br /> A "flood storage district" may be established for the area landward <br /> of the floodway in lieu of the floodfringe designation where <br /> floodplain storage will decrease the regional flood elevation, <br /> provided that: <br /> (A) The Department of Natural Resources approves the methodology <br /> - used to analyze floodplain storage to determine revised <br /> regional flood elevations. <br /> (B) The municipality adopts required standards pertaining to the <br /> flood storage district, pursuant to Chapter NR 116 Wisconsin <br /> Administrative Code. . <br /> (3) APPLICABILITY: <br /> The provisions of this section apply to all areas within the flood <br /> storage district, as shown on the official floodplain zoning maps, <br /> and to those portions of the general floodplain district that are <br /> determined to be in the flood storage area. <br />
