U Chair <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 9 , 1993-94 <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE DANE COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br /> RELATING TO DEFINITIONS, AGRICULTURAL AND AGRICULTURE BUSINESS <br /> DISTRICTS, STANDARDS FOR MINERAL EXTRACTION AND LIMITED FAMILY <br /> BUSINESSES, NONCONFORMING USE. <br /> ARTICLE 1: All references herein to sections are to those of the <br /> Dane County Code of Ordinances unless otherwise expressed stated. <br /> ARTICLE 2: Section 10 . 01 ( 3 ) is amended to read as follows : <br /> ( 3 ) "Animal unit" . One ,('1% animal unit shall be defined as <br /> being the equivalent. of ¢p! 1'1%- cow, f¢0' ,'4% hogs , 10 sheep, 10 <br /> goats , 100 poultry, 00 X11 horse, 00 %l% pony, 00 00 ,'l% mule <br /> or 100 rabbits or an equivalent combination thereof. <br /> [EXPLANATION: This amendment changes the definition of ' animal <br /> unit ' as shown. ] <br /> ARTICLE 3: Section 10 . 01 ( 5m) is created to read as follows : <br /> ( 5m) "Bee Keeping" . Keeping of more than 1 hive for each 10 , 000 <br /> square feet of lot or parcel area . <br /> [EXPLANATION: This amendment creates a definition for ' bee <br /> • keeping ' and has the effect of allowing beekeeping when the <br /> density of hives is 1 or less for each 10, 000 square feet . ] <br /> ARTICLE 4 : Section 10 . 01 ( 30a) is amended to read as ,follows : <br /> ( 30a) "Livestock" . Livestock shall include but is not kv <br /> limited to cows, sheep, goats, hogs , draft horses , pleasure <br /> horses and ponies, mules and poultry.
