10.85 SUBDIVISION SIGN REGULATIONS. (1) Permanent subdivision <br /> identification signs may be installed on the subdivision property at the- <br /> ��; primary entrances to the subdivision. <br /> (2) A temporary development project identification sign is permitted to be <br /> located on site at each primary entrance. Maximum size of the sign shall be <br /> not more than 144 square feet in area. Signs shall be removed within 30 days <br /> of the sale of all lots in the subdivision. <br /> 10.86 TEMPORARY SIGN REGULATIONS. (1) ! Except as provided otherwise by this <br /> ordinance, any property is permitted to display temporary signs for a maximum <br /> of thirty days within any 12 month period. Furthermore, any property is <br /> limited to use of temporary signs a maximum of two times in any 12 month <br /> period. Political signs are exempt from this restriction. <br /> j�- (2) Events of public interest, such as a neighborhood, church or club fair, <br /> festival, bazaar, etc., may have one sign, not over 64 square feet in area, <br /> located upon the site of the event. Such sign shall not be erected more than <br /> 30 days before the event and shall be removed within 24 hours after the <br /> event. <br /> (3) Directional signs, not more than four square feet in area, showing only a <br /> ffl directional arrow and the name of the event are permitted. Such signs shall <br /> not be erected more than 10 days before the event and shall be removed within <br /> five days after the completion of the event. <br /> 10.87 REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO NONCONFORMING SIGNS AND USE. (1) Signs <br /> existing prior to the effective date ofthis ordinance which do not conform to <br /> the provisions of the ordinance shall be nonconforming signs: Nonconforming <br /> signs shall not be rebuilt, altered, or,moved to a new location without being <br /> brought into compliance with the requirements of this ordinance. Routine <br /> maintenance of a sign is permitted unless the cost exceeds 50% of the current <br /> value of the sign, if the maintenance cost is more than 50% of the value of <br /> the sign said sign shall be considered rebuilt. <br /> (2) Signs advertising a nonconforming use may be continued but such signs. - <br /> shall not expand in number, copy area, height, or illumination. New signs may <br /> be erected only upon the complete removal of all nonconforming signs. <br /> (3) Nonconforming signs shall be brought into compliance or removed when the <br /> principal use of the premises is changed to a different use. <br /> • <br /> 10.88 VARIANCES. (1) Variances from the requirements of this chapter may be <br /> granted by the standing committee designated by the County Board upon <br /> application to and payment of a fee to the Zoning Administrator. Variances <br /> are limited as specified in this section. <br /> (2) _Variances may be granted from the maximums of height or area (but not <br /> both) _•for all signs regulated by this ordinance, except as limited by-this -. <br /> section. <br /> • <br /> (3) Variances to maximum of height or area may not exceed maximums specified.. <br /> • in this Chapter by more than 20%. • <br /> (4) Variances may not be granted to maximum height, to maximum area or to <br /> minimum separation requirements for off—premise advertising signs. <br />
