10.12 A-1 AGRICULTURE DISTRICT
<br /> (This district is in effect in the Towns of: Berry, Black Earth, Blooming Grove, Blue Mounds,
<br /> Bristol, Burke, Cottage Grove, Cross Plains, Medina, Middleton, Oregon, Primrose, Roxbury,
<br /> Springdale, Sun Prairie, Verona and Windsor).
<br /> (.1) PERMITTED USES
<br /> (a) . Single family detached dwelling units.
<br /> (b) All types of agriculture including general farming, dairying, livestock and
<br /> poultry raising, dog kennels, apiaries, colony houses, fur farms, horticulture,
<br /> including nurseries, green houses and roadside stands which offer for sale only
<br /> those products which are grown or produced on the premises.
<br /> (c) Landing fields or landing strips along with the accessory structures which are for
<br /> the convenience of the owner of the land on which the facilities are located.
<br /> (d) Utility lines both above and below ground along with such structures as are
<br /> necessary for the operation of such lines but not including buildings used for
<br /> offices, exchanges, storage or garages.
<br /> (e) Municipal buildings, community buildings, but not including buildings for the
<br /> storage or repair of trucks, road building machinery or equipment. Public
<br /> libraries, museums, schools, universities and colleges but not including music,
<br /> dancing, trade or vocational schools which are privately operated. Publicly
<br /> owned golf courses, tennis courts, archery ranges, swimming pools and parks.
<br /> (f) Home occupations.
<br /> 1. Home occupations in the A-1 Agriculture District shall be limited to the
<br /> following uses:
<br /> a. Professional offices.
<br /> b. Barber and beauty shops.
<br /> c. Watch, clock, furniture, toy, doll, small electric appliances, radio and
<br /> television repair shops, and upholstery shops.
<br /> d. Sales of antiques, used clothing, used furniture, used and new books.
<br /> e. Art studios, craft studios, the sale of art and craft items that are the
<br /> result of efforts by someone who is resident on the premises.
<br /> f. Home bakeries.
<br /> 2. Home occupations in the A-1 Agriculture District shall be subject to the
<br /> following restrictions:
<br /> a. The activity shall be limited to existing residential or accessory buildings
<br /> on the premises and the floor area devoted to the activity shall not exceed
<br /> 25% of the living area on the premises.
<br /> b. Not more than one person who is not resident on the premises can be employed
<br /> in the activity.
<br /> c. That before any of the aforementioned activities can commence, a certificate
<br /> of compliance shall be obtained from the Zoning Administrator.
<br /> d. Any on-premise sign advertising the presence of any of the foregoing acti-
<br /> vities shall be limited to 12 square feet and shall not be lighted at night.
