<br /> (59) Sign (directory) . A sign which directs attention to a business, service or
<br /> entertainment at a specific location or premises other than the premises or location
<br /> at which the sign is located.
<br /> (60) Sign (On premise) . A sign which indicates the name of the establishment where the
<br /> sign is located or to which it is affixed and which also may direct attention to a
<br /> product not exclusively related to the premises where such sign is located or to
<br /> which it is affixed, but sold or offered upon such premises.
<br /> (61) Sign (home occupation) . A sign which directs attention to a home occupation
<br /> permitted on the premises to which the sign is affixed.
<br /> (62) Sign (real estate) . A sign which directs attention to real estate which is for
<br /> sale, lease, rent or trade.
<br /> (A3) Sign (development) . A sign which directs attention to a future building or to a
<br /> building under construction.
<br /> (F4) Sign (temporary) . A sign which directs attention to an event to be held at a
<br /> specific time and place. During election campaigns, posters or signs on behalf of
<br /> candidates for public offices or on behalf of a political belief shall also be
<br /> considered as temporary signs.
<br /> (65) Sign (crop demonstration) . A sign used to designate a variety, brand or other
<br /> identification of a field crop, fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide being grown or used
<br /> at a specific location.
<br /> (66) Slaughterhouse. Any building or premises used commercially for the killing or
<br /> dressing of cattle, sheep, swine, goats or horses, for human consumption and the
<br /> storage, freezing and curing of meat and the preparation of meat products.
<br /> (67) Solid waste. Solid waste means garbage, refuse and all other discarded or
<br /> salvageable solid materials, including solid waste materials resulting from
<br /> industrial, commercial, operations, and from domestic use and public servie
<br /> activities, but does not include solids or dissolved material in waste water
<br /> effluents or other common water pollutants.
<br /> (68) Solid waste disposal operation. A solid waste disposal operation is the operation
<br /> or maintenance of a solid waste disposal site or facility, for the collection,
<br /> storage, utilization, processing or final disposal of solid waste, including, but
<br /> not limited to, land disposal, incinerator, transfer, air curtain destruction,
<br /> composting reduction, shredding, compression, processing and salvage. In house re-
<br /> use of the imperfect finished products to make a merchantable finished product is
<br /> not a solid waste disposal operation.
<br /> (69) Story. The vertical distance of a building included between the surface of any
<br /> floor and the floor next above it, or if there be no floor above it, then the space
<br /> between such floor and the ceiling, provided that a basement shall not be considered
<br /> a story.
<br /> (70) Story, half. A story under a gable, hip or mansard roof, the wall plates of which
<br /> on at least two (2) sides are not more than two (2) feet above the floor of that
<br /> story.
<br /> (71) Street. A public or private thoroughfare which affords primary means of access to
<br /> abutting property is a street to that property for the purposes of this ordinance,
<br /> except driveways to buildings.
<br /> (72) Street lines. The dividing line between the street and the lot.
<br /> (73) Structure. See "building".
<br /> (74) Structural alteration. Any change in the supporting members of a building, such as
<br /> the bearing walls or partitions, columns, beams or girders, except such alterations
<br /> as may be necessary for the safety of the building.
<br /> (75) Tavern. A 'building or part of a building open to the public, where fermented malt
<br /> beverages and/or intoxicating liquors are sold at retail for consumption on the
<br /> premises. The following shall not be considered a tavern; a restaurant where such
<br /> beverages are sold only at tables and only in conjunction with meals; a club not
<br /> open to the public where such beverages are sold in conjunction with the operation
<br /> of the club; premises where malt beverages are sold by established organizations in
<br /> conjunction with the operation of a picnic, fair or other amusement enterprise.
