Proposed Scenic Zoning <br />ZONED ONLY LANDS <br />The scenic value of these privately owned hills and bluffs <br />would be protected by zoning. These lands are not <br />proposed for purchase by the department. <br />M/ ZONED -ACQUISITION LANDS <br />These lands are owned or proposed to be purchased by th <br />department and are also proposed for scenic zoning. <br />ACQUISITION ONLY LANDS <br />These lands are owned or proposed for purchase by the <br />department and are not proposed for scenic zoning. <br />Map 4. Proposed Land Use/Managemer <br />.RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AREA <br />Land to be managed primarily for forest, wildlife, and <br />fisheries resource protection and enhancement. Non - <br />intensive, low -development recreation would be an <br />additional use. <br />STATE NATURAL AREA <br />Land managed for preservation of outstanding native bioti <br />communities or endangered species habitat. Fourteen nev <br />natural areas are proposed. <br />EHABITAT PRESERVATION AREA <br />Outstanding habitat for a number of rare mussels and <br />aquatic insects. Two habitat preservation areas are <br />proposed. <br />a + STATE PARK <br />k#�� Each park will continue to be managed under its own <br />master plan. <br />SCENIC MANAGEMENT AREA <br />Land to be managed primarily for the maintenance and <br />enhancement of scenic values. There would be some <br />restrictions on department vegetation management and <br />facility development. <br />NON -ACQUISITION — SCENIC MANAGEMENT <br />AREA <br />Zoning ordinances would protect these scenic bluff areas <br />from adverse impacts of commercial and residential <br />development. Existing private land uses could continue. <br />.INTENSIVE USE AREA <br />Land to be developed for heavy recreational use.
