The beginning of a curve on a high- <br /> way interchange ramp or the beginning of a curved access to an intersection shall be considered as the <br /> intersection for the purpose of sign location. <br /> (3) Distance between signs <br /> (a) One sign face shall be permitted at any location and the distance between signs shall be 500 feet. <br /> (b) Back to back signs shall be permitted except that each sign face shall require a separate permit. <br /> (4) Height of sign <br /> (a) Signs shall not exceed 35 feet in height above the mean centerline grade of the adjacent highway. <br /> (5) Permitted zoning districts <br /> (a) C-1 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br /> (b) C-2 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br /> (c) M-1 Industrial District <br /> 10.42 DIRECTORY SIGNS' <br /> (1) Size of signs <br /> (a) Sign area shall not exceed 96 square feet. Trim area shall not exceed 20% of the sign area. <br /> (b) Not more than 50% of the sign area shall be devoted to advertising a product or service not exclusively <br /> available at the premises or location which the sign directs attention to. <br /> (2) Location of signs <br /> (a) Signs may be placed at the right-of-way line of any class A, B or C highway except that signs shall not <br /> be permitted between the points of tengency on a curve to the right of any highway. <br /> (b) Signs shall not be permitted within 300 feet of any intersection. The beginning of a curved access to <br /> an intersection shall be considered as the intersection for the purpose of sign location. <br /> (c) When located on the same highway as the business, service or entertainment which it directs attention <br /> to, a directory sign shall be located not more than 3 miles from such place. When more than one class A <br /> highway must be travelled to reach a business, service or entertainment, a directory sign may be placed <br /> in each approaching direction to the intersection and such a sign shall not be more than 5 air miles from - <br /> the business, service or entertainment advertised. When the business, service or entertainment advertised <br /> is located within the corporate limits of any village or city, the distance requirements shall be measured <br /> from the corporate limits at its intersection of the highway on which the sign is to be located. <br /> (3) Distance between signs <br /> (a) One sign shall be permitted at any location and the distance between signs shall be 1320 feet. <br /> (b) Back to back signs shall be permitted except however a separate permit shall be required for each sign <br /> face. <br /> (4) Permitted zoning districts <br /> (a) A-1 Agricultural District <br /> (b) B-1 Local Business District <br /> (c) C-1. Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br /> (e) M-1 Industrial District <br /> 10.43 ON PREMISE SIGNS] <br /> (1) Location of signs <br /> (a) On premise signs may be attached to the building they are intended to serve. <br /> (b) Free standing on premise signs shall be located within the required yards of the building it is intended <br /> to serve. <br /> (c) If the business, service or entertainment is located at a highway intersection an on premise sign shall <br /> not be located within the vision clearance triangle. <br /> (2) Height of sign <br /> (a) On premise signs shall not exceed the height of any building permitted in the zoning district in which <br /> the sign is located. - 33 - <br />
