(2) CONDITIONAL USES PERMITTED IN THE CO-1 CONSERVANCY DISTRICT (a) If the land is privately owned, those uses enumerated in 10.155 (1) (h) . (3) USES PROHIBITED (a) If the land is privately owned, any filling of marsh land, removal of top soil. or damming of any water course unless approved by the zoning committee after public hearing. 10.16 GENERAL PROVISIONS AND EXCEPTIONS (1) USE (a) Any use not listed as a permitted use in a district is prohibited in that district and except as otherwise expressly provided, any use listed as a permitted use in any district shall be construed as a prohibited use in any other district. (b) The following uses shall be permitted in the districts specified when such uses do not alter the character of the premises in respect to their use for the purposes permitted in such district: 1. In any district, real estate offices and signs advertising property for sale for a period not to exceed one year. 2. In any district, temporary buildings and the temporary storage of materials and equipment incidental to the construction of buildings of the premises, for a period not to exceed one year. 3. In the A-1 Agriculture District, additional single family residences or du- plexes may be provided for members of the family or employees that are employed on a full-time basis in an agricultural use.. (2) HEIGHT (a) Hospitals, churches, schools, radio transmission towers, water towers, chimneys, spires, penthouses, cupolas,silos, windmills and similar structures may be erec- ted to a height greater than the maximum permitted in the district in which they are located; provided, however, that no part of such structure above the height limit shall be used for residential purposes. (3) AREA, FRONTAGE AND POPULATION DENSITY (a) Any lot or parcel shown on a recorded subdivision, plat or assessor's plat, or con- , veyance recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds for Dane County prior to - 29
