ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #2114 <br /> • <br /> Amending Chapter 10, Dane County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> j The Dane County Board of Supervisors does ordain as follows: <br /> 1. Amend ss 10.01 (6) to read as follows: • . <br /> (6) Building: Any structure :having a roof supported by posts, columns or walls used or in- <br /> tended to be used for the shelter or enclosure of person, animals, equipment, machinery • <br /> ' • or materials. Also included for permit and locational purposes' are swimming pools both <br /> • above and below ground, towers for microwave antennas, community television antennas but <br /> not towers and posts for lines carrying telephone messages or electricity. <br /> ' . 2. Renumber ss 10.01 (24) thrti (81) to (25) thru 82. . <br /> 3. Create a new 10.01 (24) to read as follows: <br /> . (24) : Gross vehicle weight shallmean the weight of any truck or road tractor and its semi- <br /> trailer plus the load that the vehicle is rated to haul. <br /> 4. Repeal 10.01 (26) and recreate to read as follows: <br /> (26) Home Occupation. A home occupation is any occupation carried on by a member of the imme- <br /> ,� diate family residing on the premises, which meets all of the following conditions: ' <br /> 1. That the occupation is conducted within a dwelling and not in an accessory building. <br /> 2. That only• members of the immediate family residing on the premises may be employed; <br /> 3. That no stook-in-trade is kept or commodities sold, other than those made on the pre- <br /> mises; <br /> 4. That samples may be kept but not sold on the premises; • <br /> . 5. That no mechanical equipment is used except such as may be used for purely domestic or <br /> household purposes. <br /> 6. That such occupation shall not require internal or external alterations, or involve con- <br /> struction features not customary in a dwelling; <br /> 7. That not more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the floor area of one story of the dwel- <br /> ling is devoted to such home occupation; <br /> - 8. That the entrance to the space devoted to such occupation is from within the building; <br /> -.9. That there is no evidence, other than the sign referred to in 30 below that will indi- <br /> cate from the exterior that-the building is being-utilized in part for any purpose other <br /> than that of a dwelling; and <br /> 10. That one sign shall be permitted, sign shall be attached to the building, shall' not ex- <br /> ceed 2 square feet in area and shall not be lighted at night. <br /> 5,. Repeal ss 10.01 (29) and recreate to read as follows: <br /> (29) Junkyard. A junkyard is an open area where waste or scrap materials are bought, sold, . <br /> -- exchanged, stored, baled, packed, disassembled or handled, including, but not limited to, <br /> scrap iron and other metals, paper, rags, rubber, tires and bottles. A junkyard includes <br /> I , an automobile wrecking or dismantling yard, but does not include uses established entirely <br /> within enclosed buildings. <br /> ' 6. Repeal 10.01 (31) and recreate to read as follows: <br /> (31) Kennel. A kennel is any premise, or portion thereof, where dogs, cats or other house <br /> hold pets are maintained, boarded, bred, or cared for, in return for renumeration, or <br /> _ are kept for the purpose of sale.. <br /> E 7. Renumber ss 10.01 (34) thru (82) to (35) thru (83) . / <br /> 8. Create a new 10.01 (34 ) to read as follows: <br /> (33) Lot line, rear. The rear lot line shall mean that lot line which is opposite and most dis- <br /> tant from the front lot line. In the case of an irregular, triangular or gore-shaped <br /> . lot, a line ten (10) feet in length entirely within the lot, parallel to and most distant <br /> from the front lot line shall be considered to be the rear ,lot line for the purpose of <br /> determining depth of rear yard. In cases where none of these definitions is applicable, <br /> the Zoning Administrator shall designate the rear lot line. <br /> - 9. Repeal 10.01 (41) and recreate to read as follows: • <br /> (41) Motor vehicle: Cars, trucks, buses, semi-tractors and semi-trailers which may be used <br /> to transport goods, materials, freight or passengers. <br /> -10. Amend 10.01 (52) to read as follows: <br /> ' (52) Recreational Equipment: Shall include boats, canoes, snowmobiles; or camping and luggage <br /> i -7- carrying trailers intended to be towed by an automobile or truck and net exeeed.ng 04 <br />
