SALVAGE YARDS: (Section 10.20) <br /> In addition to State of Wisconsin or Town requirements, a conditional use permit and <br /> an annual license is required from Dane County before anyone can begin operating a <br /> salvage or junk yard in the unincorporated areas of Dane County. <br /> CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT: (Section 10.25 (7) <br /> A conditional use permit (CUP) is required for certain uses within each zoning dis- <br /> trict. The Committee approves or denies applications for conditional use permits <br /> following a public hearing. Contact the Zoning Department for information about <br /> filing an application for a conditional use permit. <br /> SPECIAL EXCEPTION PERMIT: (Section 10.35 (c) <br /> A special exception permit is needed before placing any fill in a flood plain or shore- <br /> land area or for any building to be constructed in a flood plain or shoreland area. <br /> The Board of Adjustment approves or denies applications for special exception permits <br /> following a public hearing. Contact the Zoning Department for information about <br /> filing an application for a special exception permit. <br /> VARIANCE - BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT: (Section 10.26) <br /> The Board of Adjustment grants variances from the locational requirements of the <br /> zoning ordinance. When the imposition of those requirements would result in a hard- <br /> ship to the property owner that is not shared by other owners, an application for a <br /> variance can be made to the Board of Adjustment.
