(3) REMOVAL OF SIGNS <br /> (a) Crop demonstration signs shall be removed not later than 10 days following crop <br /> harvest. <br /> (4) PERMITTED ZONING DISTRICTS <br /> (a) A-1 Agricultural District <br /> (b) RH-1 Rural Homes District <br /> (c) B-1 Local Business District <br /> (d) C-1 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br /> (e) C-2 Commercial and Light Manufacturing District <br /> (f) M-1 Industrial District. <br /> (g) CO-1 Conservancy District. <br /> 10.79 GENERAL PROVISIONS AND PERMITS <br /> (1) GENERAL PROVISIONS <br /> (a) Signs shall not be designed and installed to imitate or simulate any highway marker, <br /> signal or traffic control sign. <br /> (b) Signs shall not have any flashing or rotating lights. <br /> (c) Signs shall not be placed to obscure the vision of any official highway marker, <br /> signal or traffic control sign. <br /> (d) A railroad crossing shall be considered the same as a highway intersection. <br /> (e) Signs shall not be attached to trees, fence posts or fence or utility structures <br /> and shall not be painted on a rock or other natural object. <br /> (f) Signs shall be kept in a good state of repair. <br /> (g) The provisions of this ordinance which define permitted locations of signs along <br /> the public roads and highways are held to be the minimum standards to insure safety <br /> on the public roads and highways. <br /> (2) PERMITS <br /> (a) Permits are required for the installation or erection of advertising signs, bill- <br /> boards, posterboards and directory signs. <br /> (b) The application for a permit to install or erect a sign shall contain such informa- <br /> tion as required by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> (c) The fee for the erection or installation of advertising signs, billboards, poster- <br /> boards and directory signs shall be twenty dollars ($20.00) per one hundred (100) <br /> square feet or fraction thereof. <br /> (d) On issuance of a permit to erect or install a sign subject to a permit, the Zoning <br /> Administrator shall issue a suitable identification tag to be placed on the sign <br /> as to be visible from the highway. <br /> (3) REMOVAL OF CERTAIN SIGNS <br /> (a) Any sign now or hereafter existing which no longer advertises a bonafide business <br /> or a product available shall be removed within thirty (30) days after notification <br /> by certified mail by the Zoning Administrator to the owner of the sign. <br /> (b) If the order for removal of a sign sent to the sign owner is not deliverable by <br /> certified mail, the notice shall be sent by certified mail to the owner of the <br /> land on which the sign is located. ft <br /> (4) AMORTIZATION OF NON-CONFORMING SIGNS <br /> - 66 - <br />
