4. That samples may be kept but not sold on the premises;
<br /> 5. That no mechanical equipment is used except such as may be used for purely domestic
<br /> or household purposes.
<br /> 6. That such occupation shall not require internal or external alterations, or involve
<br /> construction features not customary in a dwelling;
<br /> 7. That not more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the floor area of one story of the
<br /> dwelling is devoted to such home occupation;
<br /> 8. That the entrance to the space devoted to such occupation is from within the building;
<br /> 9. That there is no evidence, other than the sign referred to in 10 below that will indi-
<br /> cate from the exterior that the building is being utilized in part for any purpose
<br /> other than that of a dwelling; and
<br /> 10. That one sign shall be permitted, sign shall be attached to the building, shall not ex-
<br /> ceed 2 square feet in area and shall not be lighted at night.
<br /> (27) Hospital: An institution providing health services, primarily for in-patients, and
<br /> medical and surgical care of the sick and injured, including as a integral part of
<br /> the institution, such related facilities as laboratories, out-patient departments,
<br /> training facilities; central service facilities, and staff offices.
<br /> (28) Hotel: A building in which board and lodging are provided to the transient public
<br /> for compensation.
<br /> (29) Institutions for Children: An institution for the care of children as licensed and
<br /> authorized by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services under Chapter 48,
<br /> Wisconsin Statutes.
<br /> (30) Junkyard: A junkyard is an open area where waste or scrap materials are bought, sold,
<br /> exchanged, stored, baled, packed, disassembled or handled, including, but not limited
<br /> to, scrap iron and other metals, paper, rags, rubber tires and bottles. A junkyard
<br /> includes an automobile wrecking or dismantling yard, but does not include uses esta-
<br /> blished entirely within enclosed buildings.
<br /> (31) Kennel: A kennel is any premise, or portion thereof, where dogs, cats or other house-
<br /> hold pets are maintained, boarded, bred, or cared for, in return for renumeration, or
<br /> are kept for the purpose of sale.
<br /> (32) Lodging House: A building in which lodging accommodations are provided by previous
<br /> arrangements for definite periods of time to four (4) or more but not to exceed twelve
<br /> (12) individuals not members of the family.
<br /> (33) Lot; A parcel of land occupied or intended to be occupied by one building and its
<br /> accessory building and uses, except as otherwise provided herein. A lot may be a
<br /> parcel designated in a plat or described in a conveyance recorded in the office of
<br /> the Register of Deeds. No land included in any street, highway or railroad right-of-
<br /> way shall be included when computing area.
<br /> (34) Lot Width: For purposes of this ordinance the width of a lot shall be the shortest
<br /> . distance between the side lines at the setback line. On triangular or irregular shaped
<br /> lots the width shall be the shortest distance between the side lines of the lot at the
<br /> building line. Such building line may be the setback line of a line designated on a
<br /> plat, or in a conveyance of an unplatted parcel. On farm lands, where the distance
<br /> between side lines may vary, the distance between the side lines at the point where
<br /> accessory farm buildings are located shall be deemed the lot width.
<br /> (35) Lot Line, Rear: The rear lot line shall mean that lot line which is opposite and most
<br /> distant from the front lot line. In the case of an irregular, triangular or gore-shaped
<br /> lot, a line ten (10) feet in length entirely within the lot, parallel to and most dis-
<br /> tant from the front lot line shall be considered to be the rear lot line for the purpose
<br /> of determining depth of rear yard. In cases where none of these definitions is appli-
<br /> cable, the Zoning Administrator shall designate the rear lot line.
<br /> (36) Major Repairs to Motor Vehicles: Repairs and over-hauling of motor or engine parts,
<br /> drive train assemblies, braking systems, body and frame repairs and replacements,
<br /> refinishing and painting, wheel alignment.
<br /> (37) Minor Repairs to Motor Vehicles: Replacing or repairing of electrical components,
<br /> tires, changing or replacing coolants, and lubricants, cleaning and polishing, wheel
<br /> tire balancing.
