(a) Roads or streets in subdivisions platted prior to the adoption of this 'ordinance, except those designated as Class A or Class B highways, are hereby designated as Class D highways. (a) All streets, highways and roads not otherwise classified are hereby designated Class E highways. Three (3) new sections of the ordinance are created, to be numbered 10.18, 10.19, and 10.20, and as so numbered, to read as follows: 10.18 OFF - STREET PARKING. (1) One off -street parking space shall be two hundred sixteen (216) square feet of area; exclusive of adequate ingress and egress driveways to connect with a public thoroughfare. A single stall garage, or one stall in a multiple stall garage, may replace any single required parking space. (2) No building for which off -street parking space is required may be added to, structurally altered oy' converted in use so as to encroach upon or reduce the parking space below the required minimum. —54— (3) No parking spaces required under this ordinance may be used for any other purpose; provided, however, that open spaces required by this ordinance for setback and side yards may be used for such parking spaces or approaches thereto. (4) Parking spaces required. (a) In the local business, commercial and light manufacturing, and industrial districts, in addition to other parking spaces herein required, there shall be provided adequate off -street space for the loading and un- loading of trucks and other commercial vehicles, and for the vehicles of employed personnel. (b) Multiple family dwellings shall provide one off -street parking space for .each family for which accommodations are provided in the building. (c) Establishments offering curb service or service to customers who remain in the vehicle, shall provide adequate space to accommodate all vehicles to be so serviced. (d) Retail or local business places, banks, offices and professional offices and personal service shops shall provide one parking space for each three hundred (300) square feet of ground floor area, plus one parking space for each five hundred (500) square feet of upper floor area. (e) Buildings combining busiess and residential use shall provide one parking space for each thr n ee hundred (300) square feet of'area devoted to business use, plus one parking space for each family for which accom- modations are provided. (f) Theaters , churches, auditoriums, lodges or fraternity halls and similar places of public assemblage shall provide one parking space for each seven (7) seats. Outdoor theaters shall provide sufficient off-street space for overflow parking. (g) Hotels, lodgin houses and dormitories shall provide one parking space for each three (3y guest rooms. (h) Restaurants,, taverns and the like, except curb service establish - ments, shall 'provide one parking space for each fifty (50) square feet --of floor space devoted to the use. of patrons. (i) Funeral hones and mortuaries shall provide one parkirig'space for each fifty (50) square feet of floor space devoted to parlors. (j) Bowling alleys shall provide five (5). parking spaces for each alley. (k) Garages and service stations shall provide adequate parking space for vehicles waiting to be serviced -or repaired. 10.19 TOURIST AND TRAILER CAMPS. (1) Boundaries and area.
