SECTION 10.01 <br /> (52) Sign (Temporary): A sign which directs attention to an event to be held at a speci- <br /> fic time and place. During election campaigns, posters or signs on behalf of candi- <br /> dates for public offices or on behalf of a political belief shall also be considered <br /> as temporary signs. <br /> (53) Sign (Crop Demonstration): A sign used to designate a variety, brand or other <br /> identification of a field crop, fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide being grown or <br /> used at a specific location. <br /> (5) ) Slaughter House: Any building or premises used commercially for the killing or <br /> dressing of cattle, sheep, swine, goats or horses, for human consumption and <br /> the storage, freezing and curing of meat and the preparation of meat products. <br /> (55) Story: The vertical distance of a building included between the surface of any <br /> floor and the floor next above it, or if there be no floor above it, then the space <br /> between such floor and the ceiLing, provided that a basement shall not be considered <br /> a story. <br /> (56) Story, Half: A story under a gable, hip or mansard roof, the wall plates of which <br /> on at least two sides are not more than two feet above the floor of such story. <br /> (57) Street: A public or private thoroughfare which affords primary means of access <br /> to abutting property is a street to that property for the purposes of this ordi- <br /> nance, except driveways to buildings. A driveway to a farm building shall not <br /> be considered a street for the purpose of deterining setback, even though such <br /> driveway may have been designated a town road for the purpose of maintenance. <br /> (58) Street Line: The dividing line between the street and the lot. <br /> (59) Structure: Anything erected or constructed, the use of which requires more or less <br /> permanent location on the ground. Telephone,telegraph, power poles and lines and <br /> other transmission and communication lines shall be considered structures for the <br /> purpose of determining setback from highways. <br /> (60) Structural Alteration: Any change in the supporting members of a building, such <br /> as the bearing walls or partitions, columns, beams or girders, excepting such <br /> alterations as may be necessary for the safety of the building. <br /> (61) Tavern: A building or part of the building open to the public, where fermented <br /> malt beverages and/or intoxicating liquors are sold at retail for consumption on <br /> the premises. The following shall not be considered a tavern: a restaurant where <br /> such beverages are sold only at tables and only in conjunction with meals; a club <br /> not open to the public where such beverages are sold in conjunction with the . <br /> operation of the club; premises where malt beverages are sold by established organ- <br /> izations in conjunction with the operation of a picnic, fair or other amusement <br /> enterprise. <br /> (62) Tourist Camp: An area or premises on which are located permanent buildings, either <br /> single cabins or buildings comprising two or more units under one roof, together <br /> with accessory buildings, for temporary accomodation of tourists, but not for <br /> permanent occupancy except the owner or occupant of the premises or his employees. <br /> (63) Trailer Camp: An area or premises on which is provided space for the temporary <br /> accomodation of trailers for tourists, together with the necessary accessory <br /> buildings, but not for permanent occupancy. <br /> (64) Vision Clearance Triangle: Shall be the area in each quadrant of an intersection <br /> - 6 - <br />
