• <br /> • <br /> • TANTE COUNTY :ZONING OR.D:I.NANC:E <br /> BEING CHAPTER, 10 OF THE ORDINANCES OF DANE COUNTY <br /> • <br /> An ordinance to alter,. supplement and change the boundaries and regulations con- <br /> tained in that certain ordinance•adopted by the Dane County 3oard of Supervisors on <br /> July 20, 1938, as amended to and including October 25, 1949, which said ordinance is <br /> entitled `A zoning ordinance enacted pursuant to the provisions of Sections f9.97 and <br /> 59.99 of the Statutes and providing penalties for the violation of its provisions' . <br /> The Dane County Board of'Supervisors does ordain as follows: <br /> Section 1. -That certain ordinance adopted by the County Board of Supervisors of <br /> Dane County on July 20, 1938, as amended, the title'to which is •recited in the title <br /> to this ordinance, shall hereafter be known and numbered as Chapter 10, Lane County <br /> Ordinances, and as so entitled and numbered, said title is amended to read as follows: <br /> An ordinance, to be known as Chapter 10, Dane County Ordinances, regulating, re- <br /> stricting and determining. the location of trades and industries, the location, height, <br /> bulk, number of stories, .and size of building and other structures; the percentage <br /> - of lot which.may be occupied; the size of yards and other open spaces; the density of <br /> population; the location of buildings designed for specific uses; the area along <br /> natural water courses, streams and creeks in which trades and industries and the <br /> location of buildings for specific•uses may be prohibited; establishing setback lines: <br /> and establishing districts of such number, shape and area deemed best suited to carry <br /> out the purposes of this ordinance as it applies to lands outside the limits of in- <br /> corporated cities-and villages in Dane County; and providing penalties, pursuant to <br /> the authority of Sections 59. 97 and '59.99, Wisconsin Statutes. <br /> - Section 2. Section 1 of the ordinance of July 20, 1938, •the title to which is re- <br /> cited in the title to this ordinance is renumbered to•be Section 10.01, Dane County <br /> Ordinances, and as -so renumbered is amended to read: <br /> 10001 DEFINITIONS. <br /> For the purpose• of this ordinance certain te°ins used herein are defines as follows: <br /> any words not defined herein shall be construed as defined in the Wisconsin Building <br /> Code: <br /> (1) Accessory Building: A subordinate or supplemental building, the use.of which <br /> 'is incidental to that of the main building on the same lot or to the use of the prem- <br /> ises on which it is located. <br /> (2) Accessory Use: A use customarily incident and accessory to the principal use <br /> of a lot or parcel, or building or structure located on the same lot or parcel as the <br /> • principal use. <br /> (3)- Block: That property abutting on one side ,of a street between the two nearest <br /> intersecting streets, railroad right of way, or other natural barriers; provided, how- <br /> ever, that where a street curves so that any two 'chords thereof form an angle of one <br /> hundred twenty 0.20)-degree or less, measured on the lot side, such curve shall be <br /> construed as an intersecting street. <br /> (4) Boarding House A building or premies where meals are served by pre-arrange- <br /> ment for definite periods of time for compensation for five (5) or more persons, but <br /> not exceeding twenty (20) persons, not open to transients, incontra-distinction to <br /> hotels-and restaurants open to transients, <br /> (5) Building; Anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires more or <br /> less permanent location on the ground. The building area of a building shall be that <br /> area bounded by the exterior dimensions of the outer wall at the ground line. Tele- <br /> phone, telegraph and power poles and lines shall not be considered buildings for the <br /> purpose of this ordinance. <br /> • <br /> -1- <br /> iT <br />
