Johnson <br />Sent: Thursday, July 11, 2002 12:58 PM <br />To: Al Reuter <br />Cc: Norb Scribner <br />Subject: no mans land <br />with regards to the Manhattan Drive, Steve Wilson project...in checking with the County Surveyor...it appears that <br />an attorney back in the 50's or 60's created a legal description and had the property owner 'quit claim' the lands <br />known as Manhattan Drive ?? X 66 feet and deeded that portion of land to the town...then created another legal <br />description and created a parcel of land alloweing the property owner to sell to Wilson's in -laws, BUT left off the <br />northernmost end of Manhattan Dr and the cul de sac!!! so OK we have a piece of land ?? # of ft X 60' (not66' ) <br />with a 50' cul de sac, (not 70') that is owned by previous owenr of the 1960's who is now dead I believe, no one to <br />sign a warranty deed granting the town lands that they have been plowing, maintaining for the past 40 Years!!! <br />END Result...Wilson's own an illegal parcel of land (by Rose's estimates) - it does not front onto a public road... <br />would be nice to get this cleared up, but not sure where to begin...short of raising people from the dead... <br />07/12/2002 <br />
