Dane County Land Regulation & Records
Room 116, City -County Building, Madison, Wisconsin 53709
January 30, 1990
Mr. Alan D. Chamberlin
Century 21, City Wide Realty
1334 Applegate Road
Madison, Wisconsin 53713
RE: LAND DIVISION (AYERS)
SW1/4 S35 T7N R8E
TOWN OF MIDDLETON
DANE COUNTY
Dear Mr. Chamberlin:
Land Division Review
608:266-9086
Property Listing
608/266-4120
Surveyor
608/266-4252
Zoning
608/266-4266
As requested, I have reviewed the status of the above -referenced parcels for
the purpose of determining compliance with the Dane County Land Division
Regulations. It is apparent that a 3.62 acres parcel exists separately, as
described in Volume 824/54, Dane County Registry. It is also apparent that
the 13.57 acres, described in R9124/43, Dane County Registry constitutes a
single parcel for the purposes of the Land Division Regulations. This
interpretation is based upon the definition of "contiguity." Webster defines
"contiguous" as "touching at at least one point." Accordingly, the 13.57
acres can only be divided pursuant to a certified survey map approval. The
21.9 acres described in R3627/7, Dane County Registry, exists as a separate
parcel of greater than 15 acres in area. It can be conveyed at this time
without a certified survey map approval. Please contact the writer with
additional questions regarding this matter.
Sincerely,
Norbert Scribner
Land Division Review
NS/mmt
cc: Mr. Wayne Ayers
Clerk, Town of Middleton
Enclosure:
