Dane County Planning & Development
Room 116, City -County Building, Madison, Wisconsin 53709
August 25, 1999
Mary M. Gjermo
586 Highway 12 & 18
Cambridge, Wisconsin 53523
Dear Mary M. Gjermo:
.and Division Review
60S 266-9086
The land parcels, described by Certified Survey Map # 5440 & Certified Survey Map
#6996, are valid legal parcels with respect to the provisions of the Dane County Land
Division Regulations, provided that the adjoining public highway is not vacated. If this
highway is vacated, as represented, the subject parcels will no longer meet the Dane
County requirement of frontage on a public street. Additionally, the remnant Gjermo
parcels, that were created by the recent highway project, do not comply with the
provisions of the Dane County Land Division Regulations. A certified survey map
approval will be required to correct this illegal parcel status.
Although a compensation may have been provided, it is possible that the State of
Wisconsin retains some liability for creating this situation.
Sincerely,
Norbert Scribner, Land Division Review
cc: Wisconsin Department of Transportation
