<br />---- <br /> <br />DRAFT <br />07/10/2008 <br /> <br />· Novation will continue its long-standing goal of bringing jobs to the <br />area through its tenants and to encourage employment of local <br />residents. <br /> <br />· Novation will communicate information [such as listing of local <br />residents and their qualifications/interests] generated by the local <br />Neighborhood Associations to businesses in the campus that may be <br />interested in hiring those prospective job applicants. <br /> <br />Other third parties may be added in the future to enhance this <br />initiative. <br /> <br />· Past neighborhood plans have identified a need to enhance <br />opportunities for higher education in the neighborhood. <br />ITT Technical Institute now leases space in the campus and while <br />there is no guarantee of attracting additional institutions to the <br />neighborhood, Novation continues its efforts towards this goal. <br /> <br />· The may also be other opportunities for collaboration including <br />apprenticeship programs, etc. <br /> <br />4. Community Gardens + Farmers Market <br /> <br />Novation supports the ongoing efforts and goal for Community <br />Gardens as an integral element of the Neighborhood Plan as <br />outlined on pages 53-54. <br /> <br />· Novation has signed an agreement with the Community Action <br />Coalition for the temporary use of a portion of its land in the City of <br />Fitchburg for'a community garden. <br /> <br />· As a stakeholder in the neighborhood Novation will work <br />cooperatively to encourage the establishment of a permanent <br />location that meets the criteria identified in the neighborhood plan. <br /> <br />· Novation has entered into an agreement with South Madison <br />Farmer's Market, LLC to establish a market at the Novation <br />Campus. <br /> <br />5. Support the Creation of and Participate on a Southdale <br />Neighborhood Plan Implementation Advisory Team <br />This is supportive of the over all implementation recommendations <br />described on page 55 of the SNP. <br />
