Unnecessary Hardship: The shoreland requirements and floodplain requirements restrict the
residential use of the property.
2. Unique Limitations of the Property: The substandard lot was platted in 1905 and is designated
by the current zoning classification for residential use. The landowner is unable to purchase
additional lands to provide compliance. Owner is not able to expand the lot due to the existing
development on adjacent lots.
3. No Harm to Public Interests: Development will be shifted away from the lake. The new home
will be shifted outside the constraints of floodplain and flood storage district.
Motion carried: 3 — 0, (Kay, recusal).
As a result of your successful variance appeal, you may obtain the Dane County zoning permit required to
remove and replace the existing house, no later than April 25, 2013. A permit application and return
envelope are enclosed for your convenience.
Sincerely,
Russell L.
