(a) Expansion of a current safety hazard
for neighborhood children;
(b) Noise pollution;
(c) Dirt/dust pollution;
(d) A clear and present adverse effect
on property values for homes within
Drover's Woods, leading to a demon-
stratable decrease in the tax base
for the Township of Sun Prairie; and
(e) Possible negative effect on the water
table for Drover's Woods if a well
is drilled at the sand pit site.
5. The Petitioners strongly believe that in addition to
other reasons why the property should not be used for mineral extrac-
tion, a supportable legal argument can be made that the non -conforming
use designation of the sand pit was lost through abandonment of the
Pit for a substantial period of time.
6. The undersigned residents of Drover's Woods (or other
nearby residents directly affected) by signing this Petition hereby
call upon the Dane County Zoning Commission, the Township of Sun
Prairie, and Developer Don Simon to join the Drover's Woods Home-
owner's Association in taking whatever governmental and/or legal
action is necessary to prevent this clearly detrimental situation from
actually occurring. The residents of Drover's Woods through the
Drover's Woods Homeowner's Association pledge complete cooperation and
support in our joint efforts.
