Beltline Hwy, <br /> Town of Madison. It was observed that interior renovations and structural alterations on the property trigger the <br /> requirement of a zoning permit from the Dane County Zoning Department. <br /> Per Dane County Code of Ordinances (DCCO): <br /> Section (19d)Development means any activity requiring a zoning permit or certificate of compliance, including <br /> earth-disturbing activities that will lead to the installation of footings, piers, posts,pilings or foundations, as <br /> described in s. 10.25(2)(f). <br /> Section 10.25(2)Zoning permits. (a)No new building shall hereafter be erected, and no existing building shall be <br /> added to, structurally altered, moved or changed in use, nor shall any nonconforming building be repaired or <br /> restored, in any district, until a zoning permit has been issued, except as otherwise provided by law or ordinance. <br /> Section 12.03(3) For construction of commercial structures and multi-family residences, including additions, <br /> alterations and accessory buildings,the fee shall be $200.00 plus $2.00 for each $1,000 of construction costs or <br /> fraction thereof. Late Filing Fee: Where work has begun before a permit has been obtained the fee shall be doubled. <br /> In addition, during the inspection it was observed that a temporary sign exceeding size and height requirements of <br /> the Dane County Code of Ordinances is displayed. <br /> DCCO requirements for the display of a temporary sign: <br /> Sec. 10. 71 (43) Temporary signs shall mean signs which are installed for a limited time period for the purpose of <br /> advertising a forthcoming event, e. g., retailer's signs temporarily displayed for the purpose of informing the public <br /> of a sale or special offer, garage sale signs, church or club event signs, etc. A permanently mounted sign shall not <br /> be considered as temporary even though the message displayed is subject to periodic changes. <br />
