Preliminary approval to rezone 1 <br /> acre,located at 1960 County Rd N from Al-EX to LC-1 OR from Al-EX to A-2 <br /> with a Conditional Use Permit for Limited Family Business for a landscape <br /> contracting business and parking of equipment on property. <br /> Plan Commission action: Unanimous approval of a Conditional Use Permit for Limited <br /> Family Business for a landscape contracting business and parking of equipment on the <br /> existing Al-EX parcel with the following restrictions: limited to three single axle one ton <br /> trucks, one tri axle or quad axle truck not to exceed 70,000 G.V.W.,two large skid-steers <br /> with trailers, two tractors, a 50 horse and an 80 horse, that total enumeration not to <br /> exceed(10)ten pieces of equipment, area of business not to exceed one acre, a steel sided <br /> pole building not to exceed 3,720 sq. ft., no signage and that the request will be subject to <br /> approval of a landscaping plan. <br /> Town Board action: Jeff Arneson joined the Board to discuss. A Conditional Use <br /> Permit for a Limited Family Business in Al-EX is not consistent with the intent and <br /> purpose of the Ag Use District per Dane County Zoning. A zoning of A2(1)was <br /> recommended. Mr. Ameson was asked why he did not obtain the proper zoning when he <br /> built on the property. He stated that he told Dane County Zoning and the Dane County <br /> Highway Department that he was establishing a business, but neither told him about any <br /> special requirements. Chr. Schuck stated that by the description of what the Plan <br /> Commission had to do to come up with a way to approve this, the request is essentially a <br /> non-conforming use and the business should not be there. He would defer to the Plan <br /> Commission, but doesn't think that light commercial and LC-1 zoning are intended to <br /> occur outside one mile of Highway N and I-90. Motion by Sup. Pertzbom, second by <br /> Sup. Peterson and carried, with chr. Schuck and Sup. Gjermo voting against, to grant <br /> preliminary approval to rezone 1 acre, located at 1960 County Rd N from Al-EX to A- <br />
