Robert J. Burull, 2042 Spring Road, Stoughton. Preliminary approval to rezone
2.07 acres, located 2,500 feet east of County Rd BN and Spring Road, from Al-EX
to RH-1 to build on to sell as a residential unit.
Plan Commission action: Approval with Lund, Haley, Hougan and Schad voting for
and Quam and Skjolaas voting against.
Town Board action: Mr. Burull joined the Board to discuss. The site plan included an
area noted as `woods", which Dane County reports is a terrace or berm which has grown
into trees and shrubs. Commissioners Skjolaas and Quam, who voted against approval of
the request, were present to voice their concerns regarding the site selected, the rezoning
of farmable land, water drainage, erosion and length and placement of driveway. This is
the last development right on the 189 acres. Rod Dahlen, adjacent property owner, wrote
a letter to Board members expressing his concerns about the rezoning of this property,
that he was denied a request to build a home on Al-EX zoned land adjacent to this
property and had to build it in the woods and that this request violates the Land Use Plan.
Bemiece Rein, neighbor and previous Plan Commission member, said that a Certified
Survey Map was not received and approved by the Town on the last division by Mr.
Burull and perhaps the present request should be held until that request is looked into.
Mr. Burull is willing to have a deed restriction on the property stating he must keep the
tree line to help hold back water. He stated that he has seen no erosion and that there is
non-tillable land on the site. Mr. Burull referenced other properties rezoned from ag to
residential, to which Commissioner Skjolaas responded. Motion by Sup. Pertzborn,
second by Sup. Gjermo and carried, with Chr. Schuck abstaining, to table this item to the
next meeting, which will give Town Board members a chance to view the site.
Larry Sornberger, 1996 County Road W, Stoughton. Discuss request and action by
Plan Commission on his June 10, 1998 request for preliminary approval to rezone
2.384 acres, located at Washington Road and Hidden Hollow Road, from Al-EX to
RH-1 to build a house.
Plan Commission action: A restriction to no animals was discussed. The request was
left as previously granted.
Town Board action: Mr. Somberger was not present. No action was taken by the
Board.
John F Kundert, W-5502 Mings Road,Monroe. Agent: Cleveland F. Gombar, 5581
Ralph Road, Oregon. Approval of Special Exception Permit, for new house located
at 2009 Skyline Drive, with filling and grading outside 1' from foundation and
removal of existing buildings (raze).
Plan Commission action: Unanimous approval.
