I don't believe further changes are necessary.
Site Plan:
The following items should be clearly shown and labeled on the site plan:
• Location of all permanent or intermittent streams,waterways or drainages;
• Location of driveways and access aisles, including paved portions;
• Location of all overburden storage piles;
• Location of perimeter fencing.
Most of these items should be included in the pending erosion control plan you have already
submitted to the County Land Conservation Department. It shouldn't be terribly difficult to
amend that plan to meet the purposes of the CUP as well.
Once these changes are made to the site plan, I am prepared to recommend that the ZNR approve
the CUP, subject to the conditions listed below. As I explained on the phone,these conditions
are essentially similar to those imposed on the neighboring Skaar Scattered Acres mineral
extraction site. The Land Conservation Department has raised concerns about the potential for
sedimentation and serious environmental impacts if the erosion control measures do not precisely
follow the recommendations contained in the erosion control plan. This is why I am suggesting
certification by an engineer that erosion control measures are properly constructed in Condition
Number 2.
