(see attached reference maps )
ZONING STATUS
04/09/58 The NW 1/4 NE 1/4 was zoned B-1 Local Business.
Business uses were permitted and Tourist camps, for the
temporary accommodation of tourists, which included
buildings, either single cabins or buildings comprising
of 2 or more units under one roof and accessory buildings
were permitted subject to site approval. I cannot find
a record of any site approval but I am presuming that one
was granted.
The balance of the property currently owned by Mr. Gaukel
was zoned A-1 and did not permit tourist camps or trailer
parks.
04/12/66 Mobile Home Parks (a premise on which is provided space
for the more or less permanent accommodation of more than
two mobile homes) was defined in the zoning ordinance.
Mobile home parks were permitted in the B-i District
subject to county approval of site. Permanently
installed mobile homes were made nonconforming and new
installation was illegal without the approval of site.
There is no record of application or approval of site for
a mobile home park at Gaukel 's.
10/01/69 Tourist camps and trailer parks no longer a permitted use
in the B-1 District. Gaukel 's camping facility became
nonconforming.
09/07/72 B-1 zoning allowed all uses permitted in the RE-1
Recreational District. This included recreational camps,
tourist and trailer camps subject to being temporary and
not permanent. Gaukel 's camping facility was again made
conforming but, permanently installed mobile home
trailers were not permitted.
