i 111
I Dane County Planning & Development
ti. Room 116, City-County Building, Madison, Wisconsin 53709 Land Division Review
gum,5#_s
608/266-9086
Property Listing
June 24, 1998 608/266-4120
Surveyor
608/266-4252
Ingrid Krause
7750 Schneider Road Zoning
608/266-4266
Middleton, WI 53562
SENT BY FAX
Dear Ms. Krause:
You recently asked for a written statement about the need for you to attend the Dane County
Board Meeting on July 14, 1998. As you know, the Dane County Zoning and Natural Resources
Committee (ZNR)voted to recommend approval of your petition(Petition#7269)to rezone
11.3 acres of land from the A-1(ex)to the R-1 Residential and RH-3 Rural Homes districts.
Before the rezone becomes effective, three things must happen:
1. the petition must be approved by the full County Board (scheduled for July 14, 1998);
2. the petition must be signed by the County Executive within 10 days of County Board
approval, and;
3. a Certified Survey Map must be recorded in the County Register of Deeds' Office within 90
days of the date the petition was signed by the County Executive.
While I cannot guarantee with 100%certainty how your petition will be handled, I can tell you
that in the vast majority of cases, the County Board and the County Executive accept the ZNR's
recommendation without change. There was no testimony in opposition to your petition, and no
staff comments that would suggest any potential controversy. At the public hearing, the ZNR
committee members expressed the opinion that your attendance at the County Board would
probably not be necessary. As you know, the County Board and the County Executive approved
an identical petition(Petition#7094) last December. Finally, you should know that the County
Board Meeting on July 14 is not a public hearing, and no additional testimony will be taken.
If you are still concerned about not being present for the County Board meeting, you could have
someone, perhaps a lawyer, represent you. Another possibility might be to contact the County
Supervisor from your district and ask him or her to speak on your behalf.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to call me at 267-4115 if you have any
questions.
Seely,
 _
/ Brian St ding
Senior Planner
•
