SITE DEVELOPMENT DESCRIPTION
Description of operation:
• Sand and gravel excavation, processing, delivery.
Timing of site development:
• Site development and operation will begin as soon as possible after
C.U.P. approval, and after acquiring all other required permits, such as a
W.D.O.T. permit to construct operations access to STH 69, and STH 69
turn lanes.
• Planned commencement: May 1998
Estimated date for completion of excavation: 2022
Estimated date for completion of reclamation: 2023 or within 12 months of
depletion of sand & gravel.
THE SITE WILL BE DEVELOPED IN THREE PHASES:
See Plans
Phase I:
• Contains the operations area and will be the site for the initiation of gravel
extraction.
• The operations area will be the site for crushing, washing, stockpiling, loading,
scaling, and dispatching the delivery trucks.
• This phase will be accessed only by a paved haul road from STH 69 as shown on
the plans.
Phase II:
• This phase will be accessed by the existing field entrance on STH 69 as shown o_n
the plans.
• Equipment accessing this phase will only be the equipment used to perform the
grading, excavating, and the crushing and/or screening.
• The excavated sand & gravel will be delivered to the operations area (Phase) by
a conveyor system which will cross under STH 69 within a culvert.
• The conveyor system will minimize or eliminate the need for trucks to cross
STH 69 from Phase II to the operations area in Phase I.
• When sand and gravel extraction is completed in Phase II, the berms will be re-
contoured per the reclamation plan included in the plans.
Note: The northern limit of Phase II extraction will be determined by discussion and
permit acquisition from Dane County and the WDNR to excavate within the
flood plain or within the 500 foot limit of Badger Mill Creek. The northern limit
of Phase II, at this time, has been indicated outside of those areas, as indicated
on the plans.
4
