The <br /> following are Dane County Parks comments: <br /> • The proposals do not directly effect Dane County Park projects. Dane County Parks <br /> has a project which links, through trails, the Pheasant Branch Resource Protection <br /> Area, the City of Middleton's project for a multiple use recreation area(old landfill <br /> northwest of the parcels) and Governor Nelson State Park through the DNR owned <br /> Dorn Creek Area North of Oncken Road and eventually linking to the Cherokee <br /> Marsh Resource Protection Area. This project is west and north of the parcels under <br /> review by ZNR. <br /> • There appears to be adequate open space planned for the immediate athletic and sports <br /> fields needs of the school, however, if the school will have grades kindergarten <br /> through 12 there may be a need for increased open space around the school for athletic <br /> fields and recreational purposes. The petitioner should check with other school <br /> systems to determine adequate space needs to serve the school and the community <br /> which will eventually develop around the school.
