Request for Rezone
HospiceCare Inc. seeks a rezone of the 13.2 acre parcel of land in the Town of Verona, Dane County,
Wisconsin identified in this application to C-1 Commercial for the purpose of building a hospice
facility. The HospiceCare Center and Inpatient Facility would include offices for in-home hospice
operations and a 16 bed inpatient facility, totaling 30,000 square feet. This site contains the
necessary characteristics required to make this building a warm, comfortable, home-like environment
in a natural setting for those patients requiring inpatient end-of-life care.
The site contains a relatively flat, elevated wooded section with beautiful views to the western bluffs.
It is a large enough parcel to create additional landscaped garden areas for patients and families that
will ensure a natural setting surrounding the building in an area that is exhibiting rapid growth. The
site is easily accessible to Madison and neighboring communities which is extremely important to
patient, families and friends using the facility.
HospiceCare has contracted with the Zimmerman Design Group for architectural services.
Groundbreaking would occur in the winter of 1999 with building completion and occupancy in the
winter of 1999-2000.
Enclosed are summaries of the number of steps HospiceCare Inc. has taken in the past two years to
evaluate the need for and the support of the proposed HospiceCare Center and Inpatient Facility.
i o6p;ti.CGrc, lrc . vnd c 5I- / ds 41q4- Conti; -ko na I U5
wo u/d ,d 40 6c_ 4p/3//c.c./ fon 1 a// 4.-c!, ;-/e_ /
.5ckt (via1-ic. tit o 9 fgnc/Sc.l3/^9, p k.;i+9 4n c1
/133, i c..t_ r"‹...
