The HospiceCare Center and Inpatient Facility in Madison will be an identifying image of
HospiceCare's mission and philosophy of care. The building, in anatural setting, will have an
outwardly inviting exterior; it will be a place that welcomes people and invites them to enter.
The interior will be warm and comfortable. People who use the space, no matter what the
purpose, will know that the facility provides efficient, functional and attractive space for its
varied purposes:
• Inpatient care with inviting family areas
• In-home hospice operations
• Bereavement support
• Community and public end-of-life education
• Administrative support of all HospiceCare programs
As the inpatient program is developed, the importance of shared resources and effective, efficient
relationships between in-home hospice operations and the inpatient program will become
apparent. The building design will accommodate these interfaces.
VII. Summary
In 1999, HospiceCare Inc. will commemorate 20 years of caring for terminally ill patients and
their families. During those years of service, we have often been asked: "Do you have a hospice
facility?" The question comes from patients, families and physicians who need hospice services
but require support that cannot be delivered at home. At HospiceCare Inc. our goal is to enter the
new millennium with a positive answer to that question. Completion of the new 15-bed facility
will enable us to give our clients the spiritual and medical attention they need to ensure utmost
dignity during the last stage of life. We will be able to relieve caregivers, comforting them by
providing a supportive and attentive environment for their loved ones.
In the final stage of life, HospiceCare, Inc. is there to provide guidance and assistance to patients
and their families so that the last months of life are meaningful, rewarding and comforting. Our
new facility will enable us to increase the levels of care and support that we directly provide.
HospiceCare Inc. has prepared, planned and changed in order to create and manage the new
facility effectively, efficiently and compassionately. Now we need your help to bring these plans
to a successful conclusion for the benefit of all the residents of the county. We look forward to
enlisting your participation as our partner to provide this important new service for the people of
Dane County.
