7o isb
TOWN OF MIDDLETON
7555 WEST OLD SAUK ROAD
VERONA, WI 53593
November 18, 1997
Mr. Norbert Scribner,
Authorized Representative
Land Division Review
Planning& Development
City-County Building, Room 116
Madison, WI 53709
Dear Mr. Scribner:
The Town of Middleton Board of Supervisors, acting in a legally noticed and convened
meeting on November 17, 1997, denied the rezoning petition submitted by James Noltner of
3828 Pioneer Road, Verona, Wisconsin.
7. 7:45 PM-PUBLIC HEARING-JAMES NOLTNER REQUEST TO REZONE FROM
A-1 TO C-2
Supervisor Riker moved, seconded by Supervisor Bakken,to open the public Hearing at 7:45
PM.
MOTION CARRIED.
Mrs. Noltner appeared before the Board and that the rezoning request is designed to bring the
activities on the property into compliance. The Administrator indicated that the Plan
Commission had denied the C-2 zoning and had approved LC-1 zoning for the property.
However, the Administrator indicated that based on his renewed discussions with Dane County,
C-2 zoning is required for the "government warehousing"which is present in one of the
buildings. Mrs Noltner referred to the conditions suggested by the County which would be
associated with C-2 zoning.
Several individuals residing in the Pioneer Road area including Marlene Meier, Jeff Almar
and Rose Sieja appeared in opposition to the rezoning request. All of the parties stated their
opposition to a C-2 classification. The Administrator also noted that he had received a written
objection from Al and Diane Breunig and telephone objections from several other neighbors. The
Administrator also noted that C-2 zoning was inconsistent with the Town's Land Use Plan for
the Pioneer Road area. No one appeared in support of the rezoning petition.
