I ,
Explanation of request for Land Division and Parcel
Rezoning in the Town of Mazomanie
Anne Herb
For nearly 25 years my late husband and I enjoyed our
home looking out over _farm land and wooded hills in the Town
of Mazomanie. Th- 6 acres . .rder Shower Rd. , south of
Blackhawk Ridge an. .r of Dunlap Hollow marsh.
All of this land was a part of the original farm
established by Adam Dunlap over 150 years ago and was
included in the A-1 Exclusive Agriculture District around 1979
when the Town of Mazomanie adopted a Land Use plan. (to
become a part of the Dane County plan.)
Now it is time for me to move on. Two neighboring
families are interested in the property and have agreed on a
land division that gives each the portion desired. There will be
no change in use of either parcel, but the portion with the
house should be rezoned to better reflect the parcel size and
residential use
Dennis and Beverly Kirch, to the north, will buy about 45
acres bordering their 170 A farm and home at the end of
Shower Rd. This piece consists of several hills, sedimentary
limestone and heavily wooded. They will have trails for
riding horses and hiking. Mr. Kirch stipulates that he will build
no residential structure on this land. Thus no change of use is
planned and we believe the parcel should retain its present
zoning - A-I Exclusive Agriculture
Evan and Linda McAteer, who presently live on adjoining
land to the south, wish to purchase the house and balance of
the land, about 31 acres. Wooded hills again, with about 16 A.
farmed land, rented for corn and/or hay since we have been
here. Now less than 35 A, this parcel should be in the RH-4
Rural Homes district. There will be no change in use.
2 , ads / l F 7
