January 2, 1998
James Gregorius
Dane County Zoning Administrator
City County Building
Madison, WI
RE: ZONING PETITION NUMBER 7069-JOHN, DENNIS, VERNON HALVERSON-TOWN OF BLACK EARTH
Dear Mr. Gregorius:
Enclosed are several additional letters of interest regarding the proposed zoning change
of our land located in Section 25-8-6, Town of Black Earth which was the former Strang farm.
I have enclosed a copy of Certified Survey Map No. 2099 which is a parcel owned by Larry
Strang. We have previously submitted a copy of a proposed maintenance agreement for the
proposed driveway. It should be noted that the first 1100 feet of the proposed driveway
is on land owned by Larry Strang in which we have a 66 foot wide access easement across.
He currently has a narrow driveway to his existing house which when our driveway is constructed
he plans on using our drive instead. The access onto Highway 14 remains unchanged. We have
met with the State Highway Department and have received a letter from them which is also
enclosed.
We have submitted an erosion control plan to Dane County Zoning and have met with Aicardo Roa
with Dane County Land Conservation regarding the plan. Our engineer'is submitting additional
data requested by Mr. Roa to comply with Dane County requirements for erosion control.
Also enclosed are letters from Dane County Environmental Health and Patrick Babbitt, the soil
testor regarding soil conditions for septic systems.
The Town of Black Earth stated they were sending you direct a letter regarding the number of
remaining splits that we have available on the farm. We were told when we were purchasing
the property we had 3 sites besides the old house which we have sold. The current tax role
of the Town of Black Earth shows we are taxed for 144.30 acres.
If you hav ny questions regarding this, please call me at (608)753-2498. Thank you.
vii
ohn M. Halverson
