NNING&DEVELOPMENT <br /> PROPERTY RECORDS <br /> Linda Hilgers of the Dane County Sheriff's Department appeared before the Town Board in her <br /> new capacity as Community Officer. She indicated she was available to work with the town on <br /> matters such as neighborhood watch programs or speaking at the schools regarding alcohol and <br /> drug abuse. <br /> 2. Dane County Supervisor John Scepanski. <br /> John Scepanski appeared before the Town Board and provided a preview of his next column for the <br /> DeForest Times-Tribune. He highlighted upcoming projects and topics for 1998 which included the <br /> construction of a juvenile detention center, construction of a hotel adjacent to the Expo Center, <br /> merger of the staff of the Regional Planning Commission and Dane County Planning, data <br /> management and further computerization of record keeping, studies regarding GIS, tax credits for <br /> Dane County farmers, land use workshops, brochures and guidebooks for review processes, <br /> Vision 20/20, and a feasibility study of a commuter rail system in Dane County. <br /> 3. Town Engineer Don Mayo. <br /> Don Mayo appeared before the Town Board indicating the only items on which he would be <br /> reporting were two items on the agenda. <br /> H. Old Business: <br /> 1. Consider Rezone From C3 To Cl For Nicholas Ladopulos/Rezoning Former Annen <br /> Machinery Ranch Property At 6626 Lake Road/8.91 Acres/Multi Family Use-- <br /> Commercial Space. <br /> Nicholas Ladopulos and James McFadden appeared before the Town Board. Chairperson Harvey <br /> indicated that the last directive of the Town Board to Mr. Ladopulos was that the Town Board would <br /> table consideration of the proposal and give the applicant an opportunity to reconfigure his proposal <br /> and come back before the Town Board. Mr. McFadden indicated that the project had been reduced <br /> from 120 units to 96 units. One of the apartment buildings had been eliminated, leaving four 16-unit <br /> buildings in the back. The two dual-purpose buildings in the front have been downsized. The traffic <br /> issue was rethought. To improve traffic flow, an integrated road with a loop was created. The U.S. <br /> Government property,which is planned to be incorporated into the project, will be available on the <br /> market at an unknown future date. The buildings are 45 to 60 feet apart at the closest points. The <br /> two facing buildings are 140 feet apart and have been pushed back from the street. The amount of <br /> parking has been downsized. Lawn or grassy areas comprise 71 percent of the site. No excess soil <br /> -2- <br />
