1 <br /> Harlan <br /> SPRAGUE <br /> DAWLEY <br /> October 31, 1997 <br /> To Whom It May Concern: <br /> Harlan Sprague Dawley, Inc. has purchased existing facilities at 1185 Highway <br /> 14 in the Town of Rutland. It is our intent to continue to operate these <br /> facilities as laboratory animal production facilities as they have been used <br /> since their construction in approximately 1976. The existing facilities are <br /> approximately 16,000 square feet under roof plus the associated outside <br /> lighting, driveways, well , etc. <br /> We are requesting that the approximately 4 acres on which the facilities are <br /> located be rezoned to C-l. This request is being made in order to bring an <br /> existing nonconforming operation into compliance. We understand that this <br /> rezoning will carry with it a deed restriction to use the property for the <br /> production of laboratory animals. We also further understand that if a <br /> conditional use permit is required, it will be issued to Harlan Sprague <br /> Dawley, Inc. and not run with the property. <br /> Attached is a map of the property on which we have shown the 4 acres to be <br /> rezoned.
