Black Earth, WI 53515 Bill Carlson 5139 County Highway P Cross Plains, WI 53528 Dear Members of the Berry Town Board, I oppose the proposed rezone of the Keuler(Formerly Street)property. Please vote against this proposed zoning change. My reasons are as follows: 1. This proposed rezone violates the spirit and the principle of the current Town Land Use plan. Lots are larger than 10 acres. The current plan calls for lots of 2 to 10"acres. The current land use plan requires each lot to have highway access and prohibits shared driveways. Although the - redrawn rezone request may provide "paper" access, it still includes a shared driveway. The Town Board, at the urging of a petition signed by over 300 residents, rejected a revision in the land use plan that would have changed these two aspects of the plan. Opponents of the revised plan stated quite clearly that they liked the present land use plan. Thus, until the people of the Town approve a revised plan, we should follow both the.ketter and spirit of the existing plan. 2. The rezone provides a classic example of a developer taking advantage of a public investment ' in the park,and asking that policies be bent to allow the id evelopment to proceed. 3. The county executive's land use program calls for buffers around public open spaces. Building houses in the proposed locations on property immediately across from the Indian Lake Park directly opposes that initiative. 4.
