Fish Lake, Dane County <br /> Recent Management History <br /> 1979. Described highest quality lake in Dane County (DCRPC Water Quality <br /> Plan) <br /> 1986. Selected as one of Wisconsin's 50 Long Term Trends Lakes. <br /> 1990. Selected as a USEPA Clean Lakes Phase 1 Diagnostic and Feasibility, <br /> supported by 2 Lake Planning Grants, USGS cooperative monitoring, county <br /> septic survey and land use inventory. <br /> 1990. Selected for the Littoral Zone Research Project involving DNR, UW <br /> Madison Limnology and Dane County. <br /> 1990. A citizen petition and feasibilty proposal were submitted to DNR and <br /> Dane County supporting acquisition of Fish Lake properties for public <br /> ownership. <br /> 1991. Aquatic Plant Reconnaissance Report submitted to the Army Corps of <br /> Engineers for management support. <br /> 1992. USEPA Clean Lakes Phase 1 grant amendment to fund Paleolimnology <br /> study to determine long term water quality trends beginning in the early 1800's. <br /> 1994. Selected as a Eurasian watermilfoil study lake by the University of <br /> Minnesota. <br /> 1996. Dane County and DNR completed the Fish Lake Management Plan. <br />
