0
•
We have attached copies of the applications made to the Town of Pleasant Springs and the
map submitted.
We have had a previous problem with a request which was based on substantial farm
income. Our inquiries resulted in Dane County rescinding the permit originally granted. It
is much fairer to address these matters right away before the petitioner, County and Town
invest money and time. If the Bauers qualify, the Town has no problem with that
provision.
We do feel that this allowance in the Dane County ordinances for placing a home on farm
land needs more stringent control. The power to do so is not in our hands, but yours. We
feel obligated to provide you with any information regarding these types of requests until
such time as the County investigates them more thoroughly than simply asking the
requester to sign a form.
We still feel that the request violates the basic premise of the land use plan IF an additional
house is allowed. The Town would normally rezone the land to A-1 Exclusive with a
deed restriction for NO additional building in this situation. If the proposed A-4 zoning
were in place we would use that zoning.
We would appreciate your time and consideration of the above concerns.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Schuck Berniece Rein
Town Board Chairperson Plan Commission Vice-Chairperson
cc: Annette and Steve Bauer
Jeannie Sieling, Director of Planning and Development
KRSBJR/drn
c:\docs\plancom\letters\bauer.doc
