August 18,1997
Dear County Board Members,
I would like termination of the restrictions on the property that we had rezoned on the
parcel land SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of section 21 in the town of Vienna.
The petition number was 6919 when we had our public hearing May 27, 1997.
I had gone up to the Dane county zoning office in January of 1997 and talked to one of
the staff members in the zoning office to see if I would have any problems with animal
units on the property. He told me not if I would have 2 acres of land or more.
So you had it surveyed out that I have 2.40 acres. Why I am requesting this termination is
that I have raised sheep on this property for 20 years and enjoyed having them.
Reason for raising sheep is for my retirement and enjoyment of them, and for my
grandchildren and the neighboring children. I also sell some of the lambs too 4-H and
FFA members for projects, and to people as pets. If there are any left I sell them for
market lambs.
I have my property fenced so I can rotate pasture every week or two depending on the
weather conditions which also keep our property neat and weed free.
When I applied for our zoning permit the zoning staff member was just shocked to see
that this restriction was applied on this property he had to go and check for himself.
It was my understanding that RH-1 zoning allows animal units on properties this size.
Why the restriction?
Sincerely,
Delbert Schutz
