Some fundraising shooting events(3 to 5) are held on <br /> Sundays and at these times trapshooting extends from 9:00 a.m. to about 9:00 p.m. <br /> Members can shoot at other times but rarely do so since the gate, clubhouse and trap are <br /> locked and require a board member's key for access. <br /> The Trap Club also engages in public service activities. At least 6 club members are <br /> Hunter Safety Instructors and hence the Wisconsin hunter safety course has been taught <br /> there for the past 20 years. For at least the last 10 years the property has been made <br /> available to the Blackhawk Chapter of Ducks Unlimited for its Greenwing Day youth <br /> program. Recently, a University of Wisconsin/DNR coordinated course(led by Scott <br /> Craven of the DNR)used the facility for instructional training. The Club has also <br /> arranged, assisted and provided parking and access for State Historical Society tours of <br /> nearby Indian mounds. <br /> Trap Field & Surrounding Area Rules and Regulations <br /> • Signs shall be posted indicating safety rules for all shooters(i.e.,actions open,unloaded except on the <br /> shooting line,squad etiquette,eye and ear protection). <br /> • The range area shall be posted and the trap house,clubhouse and property gate shall be locked down <br /> when no board member is present. <br /> • When the gate to the property is locked,the dub is closed. <br /> • Shooting at the trap field(range)shall begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m.and clad no later than 9:00 p.m. <br /> • The trap field and shooters using it shall abide by the rules and regulations established by the Amateur <br /> Trapshooting Association(ATA). <br /> • All facilities in which weapons are present shall abide by the safety rules of the National Rifle <br /> Association(NRA). <br /> • The trap field is for use by club members. A member must accompany guests,and the member will be <br /> responsible for the guest's actions. <br /> • The trap"puller"or a board member shall act as the range officer and his/her decisions on squad <br /> safety,procedures and enforcement are final. <br /> • When not at a shooting station guns shall be unloaded with the action open and muzzle pointed in a <br /> safe direction at all times_ <br /> • When at a shooting station guns shall be pointed downrange and absolute muzzle control shall be <br /> maintained. <br /> • Weapons shall not be loaded when moving between stations and safe muzzle control shall be <br /> exercised. <br /> • Individuals who are not shooting or coaching a shooter shall stay behind the puller and/or scorer. <br /> • When off the firing stations all shooters shall store their weapons unloaded and in the gun racks <br /> provided and act in a generally safe and responsible manner around the weapons. <br /> • Shooters are responsible for picking up their own debris after a squad is completely done shooting. <br /> • Use of eye and ear protection while shooting is strongly recommended. <br /> • In general,have respect for others by keeping your children and pets under control. <br /> • Members and guests shall abide by all laws of the State of Wisconsin_ <br /> • Any person found damaging club property will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and will be <br /> held liable for any and all damages. <br /> • Any member not following these rules will be subject to disciplinary action including but not limited to <br /> loss of membership and all privileges. <br />
