A-T (A 5 e 5 L-e A Reason for Rezone and Conditional Use Request: The property is currently zoned as RE-1 (Parcel B)and A-2 (Parcel C)and a request is being made to rezone that portion described as Parcel B to B-1 and that portion described as Parcel C to RE-1. The purpose of the request for rezoning and the conditional place use permit is to allow the continuation.of the �'O'L z sue of the property as a trap range. The area where the trapshooting-takes lace is Parcel C on the C northern portion of the site plan. The land is leased by the Roxbury Valley Trap Club, Inc. and has been in existence at that site for and estimated 40 years. The club has periodic fundraising events open to the 7 public, such as Sunday morning breakfasts,which take place on the southern portion of the property around the clubhouse area and parking lot(Parcel B)so a request is being made for B-1 zoning in that area. The requests do not involve any anticipated development. The club has only a single shooting station with one trap launcher. It was incorporated in May on 1975,but had been in existence for approximately 20 years prior to that. The land was owned by Vernon and Harriet Kippley,but Mr. Kippley passed away in early September. The area to be rezoned was leased from the Kippleys. Shooting at the club takes place on Sunday throughout the year from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Breakfast is served to the public form 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to an average of about 40 people. Members can shoot at other times,but rarely do so. Eighty families belong to the club. The Club also engages in public service activities. Hunter safety courses have been taught there i o , for approximately 20 years, and in September the property is used by the Ducks Unlimited Greenwing (youth)program. Scott Craven of the D.N.R. uses the site for outdoor classes,and the Club has arrange, assisted,and provided parking for Historical Society tours of nearby Indian mounds.
