Nine Mound Rd. Verona, WI 53593 Fax: 845-7143 Dear Ms. Johnson: This letter is in reference to the pending rezoning petition for Barnes Landscaping at 6433 Nesbitt Road. One of my recommendations to the County Zoning and Natural Resources Committee, which I copied you on, was that the applicant provide a landscape/screening plan for the property. On June 10, I toured the site with Mark Barnes and Brett Cox from Barnes Landscaping to discuss what the landscape/screening plan should include. On June 20, Mr. Barnes submitted the attached landscape plan. Mr. Barnes indicated that the Town wanted a written statement from me that the submitted plan met the intent of my recommendation. The attached plan is consistent both with the intent of my original recommendation and the results of my June 10 site visit, with the following qualifications: 1. The"burn pad and storage bunker" should be screened as required by DNR rules. 2. The proposed earthen berm near the center of the property along the USH 151 frontage should be a minimum of eight feet in height, but higher if necessary to block the view of the use from USH 151. 3. The plan does not address landscaping on most of the property already zoned C-2, as it was not requested that the plan include this area. It's important to note that my position may not reflect the views of the Zoning and Natural Resources Committee, which will ultimately decide for the County whether the proposed landscape/screening plan is adequate.
