a
`` June 15, 1997
TO: Zoning & Natural Resources Committee
RE: Zoning Petition #6946, Samuel M. & Geneva Braun - Item # 13
from A-1 Exclusive Agricultural to RH-2 Rural Homes and
proposed vertical expansion of second level to existing hobby shop
Dear Committee Members :
We are Dennis and Donna Laufenberg of 3766 Halvorson Rd . , Stoughton ,
and have lived at this address for 8 years . We are very much opposed
to the vertical second level expansion the Braun 's are planning . We
feel that this is more than a hobby shop -- it is also an accessory
building to his occupational business that he is operating called "Braun
Built" building and remodeling construction. We believe he is using
this hobby shop as a home base for his business , inventory , tools and
equipment .
Since he 's started the business a few years ago , the traffic and
noise has increased considerably . He comes and goes with his business
truck at all hours of the day . We feel he 's actually using equipment
on the premises for customer-related business . We have seen him loading
supplies] , material and equipment into his work truck from his hobby
shop . Also , he returns to the building and unloads and stores materials
that seem to be business-related to us .
We know he is a handyman and has done improvement to his home,
etc . , but we feel that this disturbing noise and vehicle traffic is
much more than a hobby shop should be . This building is already
40 ' X 20 ' X 16 ' with two large doors very visible from our windows and
back yard .
At the Town of Dunn Planning Commission Meeting of June 9 , which
we attended , Sam mentioned only the RH-2 zoning and ,that_ d to
combine his two lots and rezone . When chance to 1777 , we
D ....---- J
JUN r ', : V
A
D.C.PLANNING & eaNT
ZONING D .oi
