f
IIIDANE.COUNTY
NATURAL HERITAGE FOUNDATION , - r
,
. - I - .
PETITION FOR .REZONE AND CERTIFIED SURVEY MAP
APPROVAL OF A PORTION
' OF THE SINAIKO PROJECT PROPERTY
TOWN OF DUNN,' DANE CdUNTY, WISCONSIN
Dane County Natural Heritage. Foundation proposes -to rezone •
approximately 28 acres ' of land in the Town of Dunn. The, purpose' of
the rezoning is to permit the separate conveyance of a parcel located
at the northeast intersection Alma Road and Lake Farm -Road. This
property consists of, a three acre -oak savannah which the Foundation
intends to convey to the Town of Dunn for the establishment of a
wayside park. - t
In addition, 25 acres of wooded lands and associated wetlands are
. proposed to be conveyed as two separate residential lots located on
the west side of Waucheeta Trail . Presently, the east side of
Waucheeta Trail is fully- developed with sewered, residential lots .
The Foundation proposes to convey two single family residential lots,
on the west side .of. Waucheeta Trail. These lots would 'be limited to
one single family dwelling .on each lot . ' The Foundation' s remaining
lands in the `Town of Dunn consist of approximately 135 acres of
agricultural land. This land would remain in exclusive agricultural
' . t use .
The configuration of each of the four lots are all illustrated on
' a proposed certified survey map which is attached.
This entire site was purchased (together with other lands) by the -
Foundation as a part of a•- complex conservation transaction. On April
22 , 1997; the Foundation conveyed a Grant of Conservation Easement apd
Development Rights to the Town of Dunn and Gathering Waters, Inc. , a • A
Wisconsin nonprofit corporation. The grant strictly limits the future
use of all of the property shown on the. certified survey map.
Specifically, the conservation easement limits the cbnstruction 'of
non-agricultural structures on, the property to a residence serving the -
agricultural land and located east of Lake Farm Road and the. two large
residential' lots shown on the certified survey. - A copy of . the Grant
' of Conservation Easement and Development Rights is attached hereto.
The Foundation respectfully requests the approval of, the proposed
rezoning in order to complete this conservation transaction. ,
f,:\wpo\wpdoc\dcnhf\sinaiko\irezone.602-
y
i ,
633 WEST MAIN STREET • MADISON, WISCONSIN 53703 ,
- 608/258.9797 ' _ .
•
4 premed on rec yc/ed paper
