My purpose in writing to you is to provide you a brief overview of the <br /> development project for which rezoning is sought. <br /> As you may note from your site locator map, the applicant is seeking to <br /> develop an approximately twenty-five (25) acre parcel of land located east of <br /> Woodland Drive and north of Rankin Lane in the Township of Westport. The <br /> proposed development known as Steeplechase is a planned mixed residential <br /> development consisting of eight (8) duplex lots, sixty (60) single family residential <br /> condominium units and six (6) single family lots. (See enclosed copy of plat.) <br /> The maximum number of total dwelling units is eighty-two (82) dwelling units. <br /> This development project has been extensively reviewed by and planned <br /> with the local governing bodies including the Town of Westport Plan Commission, <br /> the Town Board and the Town Parks Committee for over one (1) year. The Town <br /> of Westport supports the current design layout and has approved resolutions <br /> approving a preliminary plat, a condominium plat, the rezoning of the property, a <br /> land use district amendment to the Town's Land Use Plan respecting the <br /> approximately fourteen (14) acres proposed for the single family condominium <br /> units (no land use district amendment is required for the duplex and single family <br /> portion of the development), and a request for addition of this parcel to the Central <br /> Urban Service Area submitted to the Dane County Regional Planning <br /> Commission. Furthermore, the Village of Waunakee has approved the preliminary <br /> plat pursuant to its extraterritorial jurisdiction review authority. <br />
